Customize Views in SharePoint List

This month we dealt mainly with the lists. In today's article we will see a very important function of SharePoint lists Which is the views Ta views are very important because they are the ones that form a list and display data of a list for our purposes as well as they can hide or bring data to a list that is not visible to the end user. Initially, as with any of our actions we will need to log into our active M365 subscription

As global admin I select admin and then SharePoint so that I go to the central admin page of SharePoint and from there to the active sites

I select the site that has my list and select view site to go to

On my page top right in the gears I select site contents and then my list

On my page top right in the gOn the right side of the page in the list menu below all items I have 3 options that display the list items in a different way the list button is the default function ears I select site contents and then my list

Below the all items there is a group of functions mainly for how the items will appear in the list if they are grouped by some of the columns of the list by status, by priority etc In the last group we have 2 options the format current view which is a very important function, it is the one that essentially allows us to change the appearance of our list in the view we have already selected for this list

Selecting format current view opens and clicks a side column which has 2 options the format view where I can change the view with different templates with colors

Or I can choose advanced mode and add JSON and in this way change the display of the list

We have the same in the columns format where I can change the columns' appearance using JSON

Microsoft in Learn has a series of examples of these conversions As we said in the last group there is another very important option add remove fields

From there I can add and remove columns that will appear in this view

Suggested action group has the very important create new view where I can create from the beginning my own view as I want it

And I can even choose the type that the list will be displayed. If for example you choose calendar your list will look very much like the old calendar web part we used to see in the on premise versions of a SharePoint

From my years of experience it is absolutely certain that in large implementations you will use multiple views .When lists are complex with many columns and essentially simulate a process with a series of columns it is clear that views are very important for quickly changing the appearance of the list
