In today's article, we will see how we can schedule a recurring message in a chat in Teams Using Power Automates.
First, we need an active M365 subscription. We need to log in to the service and then select Power Automate from the available apps. On the Power Automate homepage, we select Templates from the left column and there we need to find the template named "schedule a recurring message in a chat."
In the next step, we need to select continue to allow all necessary connections.
On the next screen, we need to fill in some details. First, we need to declare the frequency of the message appearance in the desired chat as well as the start date of the message appearance. Then, we need to select the chat in Teams where the message will appear. Finally, we need to fill in the body of the message that will appear.
As you can see, our automate has 2 actions. The first one is trigger recurrence, where we need to specify the frequency of appearance, the start date, the timezone, the day of the week we want it to happen, and the time after which we want it to appear.
The next step is an action type post message in a chat or channel, where we need to specify initially if the post will be in a chat, which chat the post will be made in, and what the message will be.
Then, we need to save our automate.
In the next step, we need to do a manually test flow.
We choose to press run flow to execute it.
Our automate executes successfully.
As you can see in the flow execution process, there are no problems.
Finally, our automate creates a weekly post in the chat you see.
