Copy one SharePoint folder to another on a recurring basis Using Power Automate

12 June 2024

In today's article, we will see how we can copy a folder with files from a SharePoint library to another folder using Power Automate.

First, we need an active M365 subscription. We need to log in to the service and then select Power Automate from the available apps. On the Power Automate homepage, we select Templates from the left column and there we need to find the template named "Copy one SharePoint folder to another on a recurring basis."

In the next step, we need to select continue to allow all necessary connections.

Our automate has 2 actions. The initial action, which is a trigger, is of type Recurrence, and there we need to select the frequency of the automation execution.

The next action is of type copy folder where we need to fill in the current site address with the address of the site hosting the library containing the folder. In the folder to copy, we select the folder we want to copy. In the destination site, we enter the address of the site containing the destination library, and in the destination folder, we enter the folder or library where we want the original folder to be copied. Finally, we have the option to replace the folder we are copying if a folder with the same name already exists.

The next step is to save our automate and manually test the flow.

In the next step, we need to select Run flow.

As you can see, the automation executes successfully.

As you can see below, we select the folder from the original library.

The automate executed successfully.

And finally, when we go to the destination library, we see that the folder has been copied.
