In today's article, we will see how to create a SharePoint list item when you post a message in Microsoft Teams Channel using Power Automate.
First, we need an active M365 subscription. We need to log in to the service and then select Power Automate from the available apps. On the Power Automate homepage, we select automated cloud flow.
In the next step, we need to name our automate, select "when a new channel message is added" in Microsoft Teams as the trigger action, and then choose "create."
As we mentioned earlier, this is the trigger action in our flow, and we need to specify the team to which the channel belongs in the Team, as well as the channel where a new message will trigger the flow.
The next action we need to add is a "create item" type, and we need to specify the site in the site address that hosts our list, as well as the name of the list in the List Name. In the additional fields, we need to add the title, where we will select the message ID, and in the issue description, we will enter the body of the message. We can change the priority based on our preference and set the status value to new.
In the next step, we need to save our automate and choose to execute it manually trigger flow.
We then go to Teams, to the team we have already set, and in the corresponding channel, we make a new post message.
Our automate executes successfully.
Finally, as you can see, a new item has been created in our list with the issue being the message ID and the description in the description field, as well as the priority set to normal and the status set to new.
